Monica Stone grew up in a close-knit town in the Adirondacks, where community, hard work, and integrity shaped her values. After graduating from St. Lawrence University, she launched her recruitment career in 1997, bringing with her a “Go-Giver” mentality rooted in generosity, listening, and service.
One of Monica’s most formative professional experiences came while working at a Washington D.C.-based finance and tech company. She helped the organization grow from six to over 100 employees in under 6 years. That growth taught her that success in recruitment goes far beyond numbers; it’s about building trust, fostering relationships, and recognizing the whole person behind every resume.
Along the way, she witnessed how disconnected the hiring process had become: automated systems and impersonal interviews left candidates and hiring teams feeling unseen and unheard. She also recognized that the industry’s pricing model, largely unchanged since the 1970s, was outdated and misaligned with modern needs. Convinced there had to be a better way, she set out to redesign both the recruitment experience and its pricing structure.
In 2007, Monica founded Stone Alliance Group to offer a heart-led, human-first alternative to traditional recruiting. Today, she continues to lead with empathy, humility, and a deep commitment to helping people and organizations thrive. The firm has earned a 96 percent satisfaction rating and built lasting partnerships across industries by staying true to its founding philosophy: listen deeply, lead with integrity, and never lose sight of the person at the center of it all.
